| USB EZLINK | Installation for Windows 98/ME/2000 | How do I install my USB EZLINK correctly under Win98/ME/2000 | Ezlink Installation Guide Please follow the Uninstallation process for Win98/ME/2000 located in this faq, before carrying out instructions below. In order to install the EZLINK correctly, you will need to: 1) DO NOT PHYSICALLY INSERT EZLINK TO ANY PCs 2) Click here to download the latest EZlink drivers. After downloading, double click the file USB-USB Network bridge1.6.0.0.exe 3a) Perform the following on Server PC: - This program will AUTOMATICALLY install the drivers. - It will then PROMPT on screen to install the USB Bridge Protocol- Do you want to Install? - Click YES to this question. - The setup program will then ask you Do you want to set IP address.." - Click NO to this question. - Then click NO on restarting computer - Goto My Computer > Control Panel > Network > Identification - Enter the Computer Name (you can call it anything) eg. my server pc - Enter the Workgroup (this can be anything but it MUST be the same on CLIENT PC) eg. usbnetwork - Enter the Computer Description (this can be anything) eg. server PC - Click OK and Click YES to restart your computer 3b) Perform the following on Client PC: - This program will AUTOMATICALLY install the drivers. - It will then PROMPT on screen to install the USB Bridge Protocol- Do you want to Install? - Click NO to this question. - The setup program will then ask you Do you want to set IP address.." - Click NO to this question. - Then click NO on restarting computer - Goto My Computer > Control Panel > Network > Identification - Enter the Computer Name (MUST be a different name to the SERVER pc) eg. my client pc - Enter the Workgroup (MUST be the same as the SERVER PC) eg. usbnetwork - Enter the Computer Description (this can be anything) eg. client PC - Click OK and Click YES to restart your computer 4) After both Server and Client PCs have restarted, PHYSICALLY Insert the EZLINK cable into BOTH PCs. 5) Restart both Server and Client PCs once again to activate the USB network. |
